For the position of
POLICE OFFICER
STONYCREEK TOWNSHIP, CAMBRIA COUNTY
Qualified persons are invited to apply to the Stonycreek Township Civil Service Commission to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Civil Service Part-Time Police Officer.
Candidates, at the time of application, must: (1) Possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED); (2) Be Act 120 Certified under the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Act (Act 120), or shall have successfully completed Act 120 training and successfully passed the final exam, thus being eligible for Act 120 Certification; (3) Be a United States Citizen; (4) Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer; (5) Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; and (6) Be eligible to legally operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Successful applicants must also meet all the requirements of the Township’s Civil Service Rules and Regulations that will include a background investigation, and if selected, be required to successfully pass a physical and psychological examination.
An application form and details of the selection process may be obtained at the Stonycreek Township Building Township Building located at 1610 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15902. A completed application with a twenty-five ($25.00) (non-refundable application fee) must be filed at the township building by Friday, August 1, 2025 at 3:00 PM. No mailed in application will be accepted.
The Physical Fitness, Written & Oral Examinations will be conducted on Saturday, August 9, 2025 beginning at 9:00 AM, for the positions of Part-Time Police Officer.

We are a verified agency with RING and this allows us to see what is happening in our neighborhoods and provide information to the community. We are excited to be joining Neighbors in our efforts to connect with residents and improve the safety of our communities. Neighbors allows you, the user, to share photos, videos and information related to local crime and safety incidents so fellow residents can stay informed.
The Stonycreek Township Police Department can view what local residents have posted publicly to Neighbors and can now chime-in with relevant updates or safety alerts to help residents stay informed. You do not need a Ring device to join Neighbors. Anyone with a smartphone can download the Neighbors App in order to receive updates and have the option to post photos or videos from any device.

About Us...
There are currently eight (8) members of the Stonycreek Township Police Department. The Police Department provides services seven days per week, twenty-four hours per day (including all Holidays) to protect the citizens and visitors of Stonycreek Township.
The Police Department provides police protection/services to all of the communities of Stonycreek Township.
In addition protection is also provided to the Borough of Daisytown. Police protection/services are provided to Daisytown Borough under a purchase of service contract. This purchase of service contract with Daisytown Borough commenced in January 2004.
The Police Department is dispatched to calls, both emergency and non-emergency, by the Cambria County Department of Emergency Services Center (911 Center) in Ebensburg, Pa. The 911 center receives and dispatches calls for all Police agencies in Cambria County.
NOTE: The Stonycreek Township Police Department Facebook page is not monitored at all times but instead checked periodically. Therefore, calls for assistance or to report a crime should not be messaged to our Facebook Page but a complainant should call 814-266-3112 and/or 814-472-2100 for non-emergencies or 911 for any emergencies.
We created our Facebook page as a way to provide important information and notices to the community and offer a dialogue of open discussion about topics. We encourage our community to get involved with one another and their police department as well.
